LOCKERLEY6 REMIX is the largest piece in Dawson’s Metalithic series, created in collaboration with archaeologist Dr. Paul Reilly, who discovered a hoard of Mesolithic flint hand tools in Wiltshire. Using laser scanning and 3D printing, Dawson has reshaped the flint forms, merging cutting-edge technology with ancient craftsmanship separated by over 10,000 years. 3D-printed from recycled plastic, LOCKERLEY6 REMIX extends Dawson’s exploration of plastic, plasticity, and environmental themes, raising questions about the relationship between the natural and the synthetic.
LOCKERLEY6 REMIX is permanently sited at Tremenheere Sculpture Gardens.
